Heather Maxwell

Veterinary Physiotherapist


Heathers academic journey commenced with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science in the UK in 2013, followed by a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2015.

Following her move to Australia in 2018, she pursued and successfully attained her Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Since then, Heather has been actively engaged in the rewarding practice of assisting both people and animals.

Having nurtured a lifelong passion for working with animals, Heather now leverages her expertise in treating musculoskeletal and neurological conditions in both dogs and horses.

She has ridden horses all of her life and competed at FEI level eventing in Great Britain. She now occasionally rides in her spare time and enjoys exploring the wonderful outdoors of Australia with her two kelpies, Ziggy and Audey.

Andrew Metter

 
Andrew is a highly skilled Physiotherapist, having graduated in South Africa in 1987.
Over the past 35 yrs Andrew's experience covered all aspects of human Physiotherapy, from acute care in major teaching hospitals to rehab in out-patients, private practices and sports clinics.

Andrew now brings this extensive and evidenced based knowledge to the small animal world, in line with his love of all animals.
Growing up with pets ranging from birds to cats and dogs Andrew has always had animals in his life, not least having spent time in game reserves doing animal counts and living in the bush with his game ranger brother.

 When not treating animals, Andrew spends his time riding gravel roads, doing home reno's and walking, running and continued stimulus training of his 2 Kelpie X Koolie high energy dogs Bella and Tilly. 

In providing Canine Rehab Physiotherapy Andrew will focus on restoring spinal and/or joint movement as required, relieve pain, restore strength with specific exercise regimes, and improve overall function to optimise quality of life for you and your dog.

A happy dog is a happy life :)

Joanne Woolley

Canine Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapist

Jo is a highly respected canine rehabilitation and hydrotherapy professional with more than 20 years of hands-on experience helping dogs recover, strengthen, and live more comfortable lives. Passionate about advancing the field of hydrotherapy, in 2005, Jo made history by opening Aquapaws.  The first dedicated canine hydrotherapy centre in Australia, setting a new standard for rehabilitation services nationwide. She combines evidence- based rehabilitation techniques with hydrotherapy to help dogs recover from injury,  surgery, and manage long-term conditions.

In 2004, Jo was awarded the Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) National Award for Excellence, recognizing individuals and companies for outstanding achievements in the pet industry. 

Her qualifications include:  
Canine Hydrotherapy  - Hawksmore UK 
Canine Rehabilitation - University of Tennessee  USA

She is a qualified Riding for Disabled Coach and has ridden and successfully competed with her horses for over 40 years.  She has 2 dogs and horses. She loves trail riding and loves riding her horse at the beach.

Jo was very fortunate to be able to undertake an extensive internship with Dr John Sherman DVM at VetHab Rehabilitation Office in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006. Dr. John Sherman was a pioneer in veterinary rehabilitation, who unfortunately passed away in 2010.

Molly Sheppard

Canine Hydrotherapy 

Molly is a dedicated Canine Hydrotherapist and Remedial Massage Therapist with a passion for improving the overall wellbeing of dogs. With a calm, reassuring presence and a strong foundation in therapeutic handling, Molly creates a positive, confidence building experience for every dog she treats.  She is currently studying Canine Hydrotherapy and Remedial Massage at the Canine Health and Well being Academy to increase her knowledge and improve the quality of life of pets.

Outside work she has a horse called Max and loves trail riding
