Canine Physiotherapy

There is a long history of Physiotherapy in the treatment of animals. Animal Physiotherapy is now widely accepted as an important part of treatment for numerous conditions in animals.

Each condition is thoroughly assessed and treated with a specialised knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics and rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy treatment is aimed at:
  • speeding up the rehabilitation process,
  • reducing pain,
  • enhancing recovery from injury, surgery, degenerative diseases and age related disease, and
  • improving quality of life.

Animal Physiotherapy adapts human Physiotherapy techniques to increase function and mobility of joints and muscles in animals.

Treatment techniques may include passive and active assisted mobilization of joints, massage, dry needling, trigger point therapy, stretching and exercise programs.
